I am really happy with today because we are well on the way to finding a good set-up for the race on Sunday. We tried all three different tyres and now we have good ideas about which one we will use -depending on the conditions. I didn’t even use a soft tyre this afternoon and my fastest lap was done on ordinary race rubber.
The differing temperatures have given us different challenges, but I’m pretty confident about the bike’s set-up, unless of course it rains and then we’ll all be in trouble. The track felt a bit slippery and greasy today, because of the hotter temperatures, and the wind was a bit of a problem in turns 1 and 2 and sector 4, but it was the same for everybody and we just had to cope with it.
No problems really today, except that I heard from home this morning that my 19 year-old dog had died. He’s had a good, long life, but he will be missed.

We’ve made a good step forward today - maybe part of it was down to me using my right hand better - and I am really loving riding the bike. We tried many different settings and also did a lot of work on trying to improve the tyre life and, like Leon, I did my best lap on normal race rubber.
At the moment, I am struggling a bit finding problems with the bike and everything is going very well. That’s also down to the hard work put in by the whole team and we are feeling good about our prospects on Sunday. First aim tomorrow morning is getting into Superpole. After that, we’ll see what happens.

SUPERBO TERZO POSTO PER LEON NELLA PRIMA GIORNATA.

Il pilota del team Suzuki Alstare Leon Haslam non ha cercato i tempi sul giro nella prima sessione di qualifica, ma comunque ha concluso con il terzo giro più veloce della giornata. Il giovane britannico ha lavorato tutto il giorno, cercando di trovare un buon set-up di gara e non ha nemmeno utilizzato gomme morbide durante la sessione cronometrata di oggi pomeriggio, il suo miglior giro è stato fatto con gomme da gara.
Il suo compagno di squadra Sylvain ha continuato a migliorare il fealing con la sua GSX-R 1000 Suzuki terminando le qualifiche con l'ottavo tempo. Lo spagnolo Carlos Checa (Ducati) ha ottenuto il miglior tempo in qualifica, con Michel Fabrizio (Ducati), secondo.

Sono veramente soddisfatto di questa giornata, perché siamo sulla buona strada per trovare un buon set-up per la gara di Domenica. Abbiamo provato tutti e tre i diversi tipi di gomme e ora abbiamo le idee chiare su quella che utilizzeremo a seconda delle condizioni. Non ho utilizzato la gomma morbida nel pomeriggio e ho fatto il mio giro veloce con gomme da gara.
Le temperature ci hanno dato problemi diversi, ma sono abbastanza fiducioso per il set-up, a meno che, naturalmente, piove e così saremo nei guai. La pista era un po 'scivolosa e unta, a causa delle temperature più alte, e il vento era un po' un problema al tornante 1 e 2 e nel settore 4, ma lo era per tutti quanti.
Nessun problema in realtà oggi, tranne che a casa questa mattina il mio cane che aveva 19 anni è morto. Lui ha avuto una viat buona e lunga, ma mi mancherà.

Abbiamo fatto un bel passo in avanti oggi - forse perchè ho usato meglio la mia mano destra - e amo veramente guidare la mia moto. Abbiamo provato diverse impostazioni e ha fatto anche un sacco di lavoro per cercare di migliorare la durata del pneumatico e, come Leon, ho fatto il mio miglior giro con gomme da gara.
Al momento, ho lottato un po' per per sistemare i problemi con la moto ma tutto sta andando molto bene grazie al duro lavoro svolto da tutta la squadra e le nostre prospettive per domenica dono positive. Domani mattina il primo obiettivo è entrare in Superpole. Dopo di che vediamo cosa succede.
